SUMMARY

Somayeh Nourazar has got her Master’s degree in TEFL. Currently, she is a student in English Studies: Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). She is an expert in language education and an experienced English language instructor. She has been working as an EFL/ESL instructor and teacher trainer since 2012. She is skilled in educational leadership and applied linguistics. Her main research interests include 21st century skills development, effective learning and teaching environments, educational technology, and teacher education.

Aim: Combination of physical activity and emotional involvement leads to improved retention of language structures and vocabulary.

SLW (Student-Led Workshop)

Iranzamin Language School, Iran (2017)

Description: Students are encouraged to propose a topic of their interest (a general topic). Once it is approved, they submit a proposal to run a workshop on the selected topic. Presenters are provided with guidance and support in the process of planning and running the workshop. The workshop can be run by individuals or a small team of students (ideally no more than 3). The student presenter(s) is responsible for what is covered in the workshop. SLWs don’t include any assessment. The workshops provide a friendly environment for the learners to exchange ideas without any stress of being assessed by a teacher as no teacher joins the workshops. The call for application opens each month during each semester.

  • Fostering students’ self-confidence and speaking ability.
  • Improving team work skills.
  • Helping students to take responsibility for their own learning.
